BookTubeAThon Day 2 Wrap Up

BookTubeAThon day 2 has ended, and I think I did really good since I completed two challenges! I completed a book with red on the cover and a book to movie adaptation. That book being Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion. I decided that since I had planned eight books that it might be hard to finish the challenge a book to movie adaptation, so instead of reading Carrie by Stephen King, I decided to knock out two challenges with Warm bodies. If I have time I might still read it. Warm Bodies is 239 pages, not enough to complete the 300 pages a day challenge, so I decided to pick the start and finish a series. The series that I started was The Nine Lives of Chloe King by Liz Braswell. I read only 61 pages, so my daily total went to 300. You will be getting a review soon on Warm Bodies. I am currently reading The Fallen in The Nine Lives of Chloe King

BookTubeAThon: Day 1 Wrap Up

Hey guys,

BookTubeAthon Day 1 is over! I have to say I did really good. I was able to complete one challenge, that being read a book with pictures. The book I read was Flawed Dogs by Berkley Breathed, which was 216 pages. There was also a challenge to read 7 books and/or 300 pages per day, and since I wanted to complete 300 pages per day I decided to read Onyx, by Jennifer L. Armentrout, since I am hosting the Lux series read-a-long. I read 105 pages of it (pages 20-125). So I read 321 pages and completed one book. I will not have a review on Flawed dogs because it was more of a children's book, but I did very much like the book. I did find some part a bit gross and some of the pictures, but I still do believe it was a good children's book and give it 4 stars.  I am currently reading Warm Bodies by Issac Marion.

Catching Fire

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
 Series: The Hunger Games
Hardcover - Paperback
Pages: 391
Price: $12.99 - 17.99
Dystopian Series

                                        Summary

Katniss Everdeen has survived The Hunger Games, along with her 'Star-crossed' lover Peeta Mellark. Coming back should be easy for her, but with Peeta ignoring her and Gale, her long time friend, away with a new job, it's not that easy.

But that is not the only thing that is making her unhappy. The Victory Tour which awakens her nightmares from the games. Along the Victory Tour something else arises, rebellions against the capital and they are all because of the two 'Star-crossed' lovers. The districts did not see their victory as an act of rebellion. President Snow must stop these rebellions, so he calls on Katniss and Peeta to make the districts believe it was an act of love. When that fails he must do something more cruel.

This year is the Quarter Quell  and President Snow has made this year very special. He has called all victories to be reaped. This means Katniss will be going back into the games along with Haymitch or Peeta. This year the games will be harder. Who will win this years Hunger Games?

                                                             My View

So this was my second time trying to read this book. I remember when my mother got it for me, she had been worried The Hunger Games would be to scary for me, but after I read it I begged her for the 2nd book. She got me the hard cover for Christmas, which now drives me insane because the rest of the series is in paperback. I was so happy! I began reading it an found it boring. I put it down. That was 2012 and I read it in 2014.

I hate to tell this to you guys, but I watched the movie before I read it *gasp*, twice. I wanted to read it over spring break, that first Monday, but I watched the movie. Technically I read it in a day, though, I read two pages that Thursday and the rest that Friday.  So I hope that makes you feel better.

This book was hard for me to get through. I know a lot of people say that it is the best book in the trilogy, but for me it was not. The beginning was all about the Victory Tour, which I did not care about, all I wanted was the games. And that is what got me into the book. They were better than the first games. But that ending! I want to start Mockingjay, but I heard spoilers and it ruined the book for me, stop posting spoilers! So overall it was a good book not my favorite out of the series, but the movie did live up to it! Can't wait for the last book and the Mockingjay movie!

This Weeks WoW pick is Isla and the Happily Ever After

Isla and the Happily Ever After

Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After
By. Stephanie Perkins
Release Date: August 14, 2014

Summary

Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?

Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoon worthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

                                                             My View

My first WoW pick in forever! I know your as excited as I am, or maybe not I could be wrong. Now lets get off that thought and onto something more important, this WoW pick.

Now most people don't know this about me, but I like to marathon books, meaning I read one book in a series back to back. This book is in the series Anna and the French Kiss, which is a trilogy. I have been meaning  to start this series, but I want to read them all without having to wait for the last book. I love the what they are about and they has great rating on Goodreads. I also love the new covers, the original cover were really cheesy, to me their names our too, but I don't care as long as the story is good. I can't wait to see these books on my self and love them as much as everyone else does.

May Book Haul

Hi guys,

It's the end of May, wow that came fast! So you know what that means, May book haul.  You guys know that the past months I have kept my limit at 8, well this month I went way over that number, with 47 books. I bought 18 new books, then I went to garage sales and bought 8 books for $5.50 and then our neighbor had a garage sale, but I did not go, so that night every thing he did not sell he put on the curb with a free sign, I went over to look and saw a box of books and took the whole book, it going to rain, I could not let the book go through that! So I got 16 free books. Now looking at the free books I see most are adult so I think I will give them to older people I know, I really don't know. So I went over 8 books. It was never my intention, but more books for me. So here is how it happened...

I had order books at the end of April, because Barnes & Noble never has the book I want, but I still love them, and they did not arrive till May. So while I was picking them up I decided to look in the young adult section, and took with me 2 more books, making that trip come to 6 books, in the first week. The next week The One by Kiera Cass, so the day it came out I went to get it, and it came out in hardcover and I have the series in paperback, so I didn't get it because the books need to match, so instead I got three other books that I wanted, making the total then at 9 books. Then on the weekend I went to Walmart and picked up an unauthorized guide to a series that I really like, because it was cheaper there than at Barnes & Nobles. That same week end I went to The Dollar Tree and bought 3 more cheap books, because who does not like cheap books. Then the number was at 11 books. The next week end I bought 1 book at Barnes & Nobles, then went to garage sales and bought 3 books for $2, making the total, 15 books. The next week I went to one garage sale and bought 5 books for $3.50, then went to K-mart and bought a book for $4. Then I was at 19 books. The second to last week I went to Barnes & Nobles to pick up a book for my read along. That Sunday my neighbor put out the free books, and I took them all, which was 16 books in total, making it 26 books. Then came the last day in May, we learned K-mart was closing in my town, so we hurried there. I ended up getting 7 books, which one is three books in one making it 50/52 books, because on has multiple books in it. So long story short I went over board this month. So lets see what I got!

Biggest Book Haul Ever

Hi guys,

Yes I know I have been off for a while, and I am so sorry! I do have an excuse, because of all the homework I've been having, and you can't just blame me because a lot of bloggers are slacking, too. Not that I'm mad at you guys, I am mad at my self for doing this to you guys. I hope I can be a better blogger in the next couple of months, but grill me if I'm not on. I've also been in a huge reading slump, I'm still reading, but very slowly. Since I was gone I've read about five or more books, I know I was slacking, but I am still going to school. My goal for this Summer is to have a review a week, until then you might have to be patient, because I am really busy. I hope you understand and I still love you guys!

Anyways, I am doing a book haul instead of 'Stacking the Shelves' or 'In my Mailbox' because sometimes I don't buy books ever week, SHOCKER! Sorry guys but I don't have a lot of time any more to buy books. This is most likely the biggest book haul I will ever do because it's not only for April. I am doing it for the months of January, February, March, and April, so more books for you guys. I just hope this will get me back to blogging for you guys.
